Yerevan – City Tour

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

Your city tour in Yerevan will begin with a panoramic view of the city, followed by visits to key landmarks:

  • Republic Square

  • Northern Avenue

  • Opera and Ballet Building

  • The Parliament and Residency of the President of Armenia

  • State University

  • Mother Armenia Monument

  • Sports and Concert Complex

Visit to Tsitsernakaberd – a monument dedicated to the Armenian Genocide victims, along with the Genocide Victims’ Museum, commemorating the 1.5 million Armenians who perished during the first genocide of the 20th century in Western Armenia and the Ottoman Empire.

Next, explore the Cascade Complex, considered the modern art center of Yerevan. The complex houses the Cafesjian Center for the Arts and is especially lively in the evenings, filled with both locals and tourists enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. This area features:

  • Begin your day with a drive to Lake Sevan, one of Armenia’s natural wonders. This beautiful blue lake is among the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in Eurasia, with a total surface area of 940 km².

  • On clear, sunny days, the lake dazzles with deep turquoise waters.

  • Climb up the Sevan Peninsula, which offers stunning panoramic views of the lake.

  • Visit the Sevanavank Monastery (9th century), majestically perched on the peninsula and overlooking the lake for centuries.

Next, proceed to the mountainous resort town of Dilijan, often referred to as “Armenian Switzerland” due to its lush forests and rich biodiversity.

  • Enjoy a short walking tour in Dilijan, including a visit to the handicrafts street, where artisans create traditional Armenian souvenirs from wood, stone, and ceramics.

  • Visit the Haghartsin Monastery Complex, located deep within a forest. The monastery, hidden within the dense woods, appears suddenly and gives the impression of a lost, mystical world.

    • The complex includes:

      • St. Stepanos Church

      • St. Mary Church

      • St. Gregory’s Church

      • A renowned refectory (dining hall)

  • In 2005, His Royal Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi generously funded restoration and preservation efforts for the monastery, recognizing its cultural and historical value.

Day 4

Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Yerevan

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

  • Drive to Garni, home to the only remaining Pagan temple in Armenia, dedicated to the God of Sun – Myrth.

  • En route, make a photo stop at Charents Arch, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of Mount Ararat.

  • Visit the ruins of the Royal Palace and the nearby Royal Bath-house, reflecting ancient Armenian architecture and Roman-style bathing culture.

Continue to the stunning Geghard Monastery, partially carved into the mountain, dating back to the 12th–13th centuries.

  • The name Geghard means “Holy Spear”, referring to the spear that pierced Christ’s body during the Crucifixion, said to have been brought to Armenia by Apostle Thaddeus.

Drive back to Yerevan.

Optional: Enjoy a family-hosted lunch in a private village home. Experience the traditional preparation of Lavash – Armenian flatbread – baked in a stone oven (tonir) by local Armenian women using age-old techniques passed down through generations.

Return to Yerevan for a shopping experience:

  • Visit the Fruit Market, known for its colorful display of fresh local produce.

  • Explore Vernissage, a famous open-air arts and crafts market showcasing traditional Armenian souvenirs.

The Char Dham Yatra season typically runs from May to October. The best months are May-June and September-October when the weather is pleasant. The monsoon months (July-August) may see disruptions due to heavy rainfall and landslides.

Yes, all helicopter services are operated by DGCA-certified operators with experienced pilots who specialize in Himalayan flights. Safety checks and weather assessments are conducted before every flight. If weather conditions are unsafe, the flight is rescheduled.

In case of weather delays, the itinerary is adjusted accordingly. You may wait at the current location until the weather clears, or alternative road transfers may be arranged where feasible. Extra expenses due to weather delays (additional accommodation/meals) are borne by the traveler.

Absolutely! The helicopter package is specifically designed to eliminate strenuous trekking and long road journeys, making it ideal for senior citizens, children, and people with limited mobility. Pony/palki services are also included where walking is required.

Each passenger is allowed 5 kg of luggage on the helicopter. We provide complimentary aviation duffle bags during the briefing session. Your main luggage can be stored safely at the Dehradun hotel and collected upon return.
